Message from the Department Coordinator

I am pleased to share a few words with you as the Coordinator of Central Department of Computer Engineering. Our department was established in 2015 at the Graduate School of Engineering, Mid-West University, and has since become one of the leading departments.

We are dedicated to providing a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills through project-based learning that meets industry demands. Regular seminars, workshops, conferences, and field visits further enrich our students' learning experiences. Our graduates hold esteemed positions across various sectors—academia, industry, government, non-government, and private sectors—both within Nepal and internationally.

Since its inception, our department has been served by trained and qualified faculty members. We ensure our curriculum remains current through regular updates to bridge the gap between academic teachings and real-world requirements. In their final semester, our fourth-year students undertake a three-month internship, providing invaluable exposure to actual work environments and helping them formulate effective problem-solving strategies. Additionally, they undertake various projects and mini-projects throughout their academic journey. We emphasize discipline and a proactive learning attitude among our students, preparing them comprehensively for professional challenges.

As a pioneering institute in Karnali Province, the Central Campus of Engineering at Mid-West University has the responsibility to propel this least developed region forward with cutting-edge technology. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering is poised to play a vital role in advancing technology in this part of the region.

The BE Computer Engineering program at the GSER-MU, is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to innovate and excel in the rapidly evolving field of computer technology. With a focus on both hardware and software aspects of computing systems, our program prepares students for careers at the forefront of technological advancement.
